This is a statement piece by any standard. From a South Carolina collection, this stock or bar pin is a full 3 1/2" long and weighs over 9.5 grams. The pin, including the straight pin, is 14 kt yellow gold and is maker's marked for Sloan and Company, New York. It is embellished with a 5/8" long, well detailed horse profile with a ruby eye. The vintage pin, probably mid 20th century, is in hunt whip form with a rose gold thong adding even more interest to the piece. This brooch is so very unique and lovely for the show ring or hunt field.
